National Retailer Training Programme

Energy use by appliances is expanding rapidly in India as more people are increasingly acquiring durable consumer goods. This rapid penetration of durable consumer goods into Indian households, offices and industries will contribute significantly for increase in electricity demand by 2030.

BEE has initiated Retailer Training Programme to reach out to a large consumer audience to spread awareness on the savings from star rated appliances. The main objective of this programme is to organize workshops and impart training to the authorized trader/seller all across the country. This supports and reinforces the sales person to briefly explain and convince customers about benefits of Star Rated Appliances which will give them information about cost saving and energy saving potential by the star rating scheme. The workshops/training have been conducted phase wise starting from Phase 1(2016).

Phase-1 of RTP

In phase 1 of RTP, total 18 workshops have been conducted over a period of time in various cities. Approximately 2200 retailers were educated regarding the various facets of standards and labelling scheme.

Phase-2 of RTP

2nd phase of Retailer training program started in the year 2018. In phase 2 of Retailer Training Programme, total 34 workshops were organized. Approximately 1900 retailers were educated regarding the various facets of Standards and Labelling scheme.

Phase- 3 of the RTP

Phase-3 of the RTP commenced from March, 2019. This phase will cover 82 cities across 3 zones (North, West, South).The cities covered are categorized in Tier 1,Tier 2 and Tier 3.Around 3400 Retailers have been educated so far in this phase.
